Humanoid Characters

Here’s some characters I found in a dusty place in my computer machine.

Update for the heck of it

Yes, I agree with the recent comment that a neglected blog is a scary thing.  Ironically, this last week I thought it’s probably better to have no blog than have one that is stagnant.

So, I’ll just say my next baby’s due date is a week from tomorrow and blame my blog negligence on that.

And check out these cool drawers that my friend pointed me to!  I wish they had these at Ikea.

In other news:  I’ve started to drink “energy” drinks more, so that’s pretty cool.

We had our roof reshingled.

I do laundry fairly often.

I’ll stop here.

Scary drawings

At school, my daughter had to draw some pictures of herself and her teachers for a yearbook. After looking at her drawings compared to the other kids, I’m not sure whether to be proud or disturbed. Oh yeah, try to guess which ones are her drawings.

The first is her self-portrait, and the other 2 are teachers of hers.

3 Times as Much

Some guy that commented here was all like “Hey, you should be posting 3 times as much!”, and I was all like “Fine! I will!” and so I was all like to myself “OK, let’s post 3 things” but then the math part of my mind was all “Wait, if you multiply 3 by 0 it would be 0!” and I was all like “Shut up, math part of my brain! I don’t need your negativity right now!”

ALIEN!!!

It’s true, he’s an illegal alien.  Moved here from Canada, he did.

3 month update

Wow, I’m actually updating this. And I bet no one is reading this either. So anyways, I’ve been on a journey to Corporate America. Yes, that’s right, nowadays I wear khakis and collared shirts (tucked in no less!). There are some that would say that’s an improvement from my ripped jeans and collection of adidas shirts (one for every day of the week). I’m currently in training as a programmer analyst at a St. Paul company.

I’ve never expended as much mental energy at work as these past months. Learning about PL/I, ISPF, JCL, IOF, TSO, SQL, DB2, RSVP, ASAP, BYOB, etc. has been challenging, but I can see the light at the end of the training regimen.

Sooo, I have a bunch of sketches on post-it notes and handouts at work, but nothing here right now to post. I will try to have something new within the next 3 months. Actually make that 2 months.  I’m feeling ambitious.

Old Images

Here’s some images I worked on a few years back for a company brochure.  They were done in Maya and rendered with mental ray.  I believe the letters on top of the tiles were modeled by a guy I used to work with at Oops Animation (Chad Retrum).

Just cleaning up my computer and came across this image I made while learning Painter about 7ish years ago.

Smells like Target

Finally an update. Well, for those of you who don’t know yet, I found a job as of last week at a financial services/insurance company in St. Paul. I will be doing application development as part of the Information Services department. There’s going to be about a 3 month training period initially, and then I’ll start to be actually productive (in theory).

Christmas went rather well. The highlights of the morning were pink cowboy boots and a Cinderella doll. Then my daughter opened up her presents. Ba-doom cha. But semi-seriously, the best part of the morning was her opening the boots and commenting, “They smell like Target.” I guess Santa is cutting corners nowadays.
